‘A lot of people still think homelessness is a choice. It’s not. It’s desperation’

Unheard Voices

Unheard Voices, a group of community reporters living in Greater Manchester, has been shortlisted for the Orwell Prize for Reporting Homelessness. Through their videos they tell their stories, challenging stereotypes and breaking down the stigma of homelessness. Reporters include Debbie Cuthbert, Karl Brown, David Winter and Stuart Potts.

In this video, Debbie explores her experiences of homelessness, including the importance of local connections, and the feeling of finding her forever home.
